दो अदालतों ने उन तीनों को फांसी की सजा सुनाई थी. पहले निचली अदालत ने और फिर दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने. इसके बाद मामला देश की सबसे बड़ी अदालत में पहुंचा. पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने निचली अदालत और हाई कोर्ट के फैसले को पलटते हुए उन तीनों को बरी कर दिया. ये कहानी है, 10 साल पहले दिल्ली में हुए एक गैंगरेप और मर्डर केस की. जिसमें दिल्ली पुलिस की लापरवाही और कमजोर जांच की वजह से तीनों आरोपी बच गए. इसलिए कहा जा सकता है कि इस संगीन मामले का कत्ल खुद दिल्ली पुलिस ने कर दिया.

निर्भया कांड 

दिल्ली की निर्भया को भला कौन भूल सकता है? जिसके साथ 16 दिसंबर 2012 को चलती बस में पांच लोगों ने रेप किया था और फिर उसकी हत्या कर दी थी. निर्भया के साथ हुई इस दरिंदगी ने तब सिर्फ दिल्ली ही नहीं, पूरे देश को झकझोर कर रख दिया था. गुनहगारों को कड़ी से कड़ी सजा दिलाने के लिेए तब कानून तक बदल दिए गए थे.

निर्भया कांड से पहले बड़ी वारदात

लेकिन निर्भया के साथ हुई इस दरिंदगी से कोई 10 महीने पहले 9 फरवरी 2012 को दिल्ली में ही एक और लड़की के साथ ठीक वैसी ही दरिंदगी हुई थी, जिसमें तीन लड़कों ने चलती कार में ना सिर्फ एक लड़की के साथ रेप किया था, बल्कि हैवानियत की सारी हदों से आगे निकल कर ठीक निर्भया की तरह ही उसकी भी हत्या कर दी थी. लड़की को छावला से अगवा कर उस वारदात को अंजाम दिया गया था. जिसके बाद 13 फरवरी को उस लड़की की लाश हरियाणा के रेवाड़ी के खेतों में मिली थी.

दोषियों को मिली फांसी की सजा

दिल्ली पुलिस ने इस मामले की जांच की और एक-एक कर तीनों मुल्ज़िमों को गिरफ्तार किया, सबूत जुटाए, गवाहों से बात की और तीन महीने गुजरने के चंद रोज़ बाद ही इस सिलसिले में चार्जशीट भी दाखिल कर दी. और तो और तमाम सबूत और गवाहों की रौशनी में दिल्ली की लोअर कोर्ट ने ना सिर्फ मुल्जिमों को मुजरिम करार दिया, बल्कि मामले को रेयरेस्ट ऑफ द रेयर की शेणी में रखते हुए तीनों को फांसी की सज़ा भी सुना दी. लेकिन जैसा कि ऐसे मामलों में अक्सर देखने को मिलता है, आरोपियों ने हाई कोर्ट में अपील की. हाई कोर्ट ने भी पूरे केस को समझने और सबूतों को देखने के बाद ट्रायल कोर्ट के फैसले को बरकरार रखा. यानी तीनों के फांसी की सजा पर अपनी मुहर लगा दी. 

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दोषियों को यूं किया बरी

इसके बाद जब मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पहुंचा, तो ये केस मानों एकाएक सिर के बल पलट गया. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ना सिर्फ पुलिस की जांच पर ऊंगली उठाई, बल्कि एक-एक कर तीनों को बरी कर दिया. लेकिन आखिर ये सब कैसे हुआ? आखिर वो क्या बात थी, जिसने लोअर कोर्ट और हाई कोर्ट की नज़र में दरिंदे करार दिए गए, तीन लड़कों को ना सिर्फ नई जिंदगी दे दी, बल्कि समाज में खुल कर जीने का हक भी दे दिया? आखिर कहां चूक हो गई? तो छावला रेप और मर्डर केस की इस चौंकानेवाली कहानी को समझने के लिए आइए आपको उसी तारीख़ में लिए चलते हैं, जिस दिन इस लड़की के साथ ये वारदात हुई थी.

9 फरवरी 2012, रात 9.18 मिनट, छावला-दिल्ली

गुडगांव से अपनी ड्यूटी के बाद वो लड़की रोज़ की तरह अपने घर लौट रही थी. दिल्ली के छावला इलाके में अभी वो हनुमान चौक से कुछ कदम आगे बढ़ी ही थी कि एक सुनसान सड़क पर अचानक बदकिस्मती ने उसे घेर लिया. हुआ यूं कि रास्ते से पैदल गुजरते हुए एक लाल रंग की इंडिका कार में कुछ लड़कों ने उसे जबरन खींच लिया और अपने साथ अगवा कर ले गए. ऐसा तब हुआ, जब उसके साथ तीन और लड़कियां भी पैदल ही अपने-अपने घरों की तरफ जा रही थी, जबकि एक और शख्स भी वहीं रास्ते में मौजूद था. सबने अपने-अपने तौर पर लड़की को बचाने की कोशिश की. किसी ने चीख कर तो किसी ने किसी और तरीके से. लेकिन बदमाश ज़्यादा तेज निकले.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने दिखाई थी लापरवाही

इनमें से पीड़ित लड़की की एक सहेली ने फौरन दिल्ली पुलिस को कॉल किया और थोड़ी ही देर में दिल्ली पुलिस की एक टीम मौका ए वारदात पर पहुंची. उधर, बेटी के घर ना लौटने पर लड़की के घरवालों ने भी पुलिस थाने का रुख किया. लेकिन पुलिस ने तब एफआईआर दर्ज करने और जांच करने की बात कहने से ज़्यादा कुछ नहीं किया. बल्कि घरवालों की मानें तो पुलिस ने यहां तक कह दिया कि फरार लड़कों को ढूंढने के लिए उनके पास गाड़ी तक नहीं है. ऐसे में जिस बात का डर था, वही हुआ.

लड़की के साथ हद दर्जे की दरिंदगी

तीन दिनों तक को लड़की का कुछ पता नहीं चला, लेकिन चौथे दिन यानी 13 फरवरी को दिल्ली के बाहर हरियाणा के रेवाड़ी इलाके के एक खेत में इस लड़की की लाश मिली. इस लाश की हालत ऐसी थी, जिसे देख कर पहचान पाना भी मुश्किल था. उसके साथ ना सिर्फ रेप हुआ था, बल्कि जिस्म को जगह-जगह दांतों से काटा गया था. दरिंदे यही नहीं रुके, उन्होंने गाड़ी से लोहे का पाना और जैक निकालकर उसके सिर पर वार किया. दरिंदों ने उसे जला कर बदशक्ल करने के लिए गाड़ी के साइलेंसर से दूसरे औजारों को गर्म कर उसके जिस्म को जगह-जगह दाग दिया था. यहां तक कि उसके प्राइवेट पार्ट को भी जलाया गया. इसके बाद आरोपियों ने बीयर की बोतल फोड़ी और उससे लड़की के पूरी जिस्म को तब तक काटते रहे, जबकि उसकी मौत नहीं हो गई. फिर उसके प्राइवेट पार्ट में भी टूटी बोतल घुसा दी. उन दरिदों ने लड़की की आंखें फोड़कर उनमें कार की बैटरी का तेजाब भर दिया था. ताकि उसकी पहचान तक मुमकिन ना हो.

एक-एक कर पकड़े गए तीनों दरिंदे

लाश मिलने पर हरियाणा पुलिस के साथ-साथ दिल्ली पुलिस भी मौके पर पहुंची. पुलिस ने लाश बरामद की, पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भिजवाया. और अब तक चल रही तफ्तीश के आधार पर एक-एक कर इस मामले के तीन मुल्ज़िमों को गिरफ्तार भी कर लिया. सबसे पहले राहुल पकड़ा गया और फिर उसकी निशानदेही पर एक-एक कर उसके दोनों साथी विनोद और रवि भी गिरफ्तार कर लिए गए. और तो और पुलिस ने राहुल के कब्जे से लाल रंग की इंडिका कार भी बरामद कर ली. जांच आगे बढ़ी. मुल्ज़िमों के डीएनए सैंपल लिए गए, जो फॉरेंसिक जांच में लड़की की लाश, मौका-ए-वारदात और कार से जुटाए गए के नमूनों के साथ मैच भी कर गए.निचली अदालत और हाई कोर्ट ने सुनाई फांसी की सजा

निचली अदालत और हाई कोर्ट ने सुनाई फांसी की सजा

सबूतों की बिनाह पर लोअर कोर्ट ने जहां तीनों आरोपियों को गुनहगार करार देते हुए फांसी की सज़ा सुनाई, वहीं हाई कोर्ट ने भी इस सज़ा को बरकरार रखा. लेकिन जब मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पहुंचा, तो अदालत ने पुलिस की जांच और सबूतों के विश्वसनीयता पर सवाल उठाते हुए आखिरकार तीनों आरोपियों को बरी कर दिया.

अब सवाल ये है कि आख़िर सुप्रीम कोर्ट को इस केस में ऐसा क्या दिखा, जो लोअर कोर्ट और हाई कोर्ट को नज़र नहीं आया? तो आइए अब सिलसिलेवार तरीके से सुप्रीम कोर्ट के इसी ऑब्जर्वेशन को समझने की कोशिश करते हैं.

* प्वाइंट 1- नहीं हुआ गवाहों का क्रॉस एग्जामिनेशन

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अपने फैसले में ये बताया कि इस मामले में दिल्ली पुलिस ने 49 गवाहों के नाम दर्ज किए थे. लेकिन इनमें से सिर्फ 39 का ही कोर्ट में क्रॉस एग्जामिनेशन हुआ, बाकि दस गवाहों का क्रॉस एग्जामिनेशन नहीं करवाया गया.

* प्वाइंट 2- नहीं हुई किसी मुल्ज़िम की पहचान परेड 

और तो और इस मामले में पुलिस ने किसी भी गवाह से मुल्जिमों की टीआईपी यानी टेस्ट आइडेंटिफिकेशन परेड तक नहीं करवाई. 

* प्वाइंट 3- पोस्टमॉर्टम के दो दिन बाद क्यों लिए गए नमूने?

लड़की का पोस्टमार्टम 14 फरवरी 2012 को हुआ था. लेकिन लड़की के सैंपल पोस्टमॉर्टम के दो दिन बाद 16 फरवरी को लिए गए. ये इस मामले में हैरान करने वाली बात है.

* प्वाइंट 4- 11 दिनों तक थाने में पड़ा रहा फॉरेंसिक सैंपल

राहुल, रवि और विनोद इन तीनों के सैंपल 14 फरवरी और फिर 16 फरवरी 2012 को लिए गए थे. लेकिन सीएफएसएल दिल्ली में ये सैंपल 27 फरवरी को पहुंचे. यानी 11 दिनों तक तीनों संदिग्ध का सैंपल थाने के मालखाने में ही पड़ा रहा. जबकि नियम और जांच की जरूरत ये कहती है कि ब्लड या लिक्विड सैंपल 72 घंटे के अंदर और बाकी सैंपल 24 घंटे के अंदर-अदर लैब भेजना जरूरी है. क्योंकि देरी की वजह से सैंपल के रिजल्ट पर फर्क पड़ सकता है. यानी ऐसी रिपोर्ट पर शक पैदा किया जा सकता है, जो सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पैदा भी किया गया.

* प्वाइंट 5- बरामदगी के बाद थाने में कई दिन पड़ी रही कार

आरोपी राहुल की कार बरामद करने के बाद कई दिनों तक थाने में खड़ी रही. जबकि कायदे से उसे फौरन फॉरेंसिक जांच के लिए लैब भेजना चाहिए था. थाने में खड़ी कार में मौजूद सबूतों के साथ आसानी से छेड़छाड़ की जा सकती है.

लापरवाही के लिए आईओ और दिल्ली पुलिस जिम्मेदार

जाहिर है इस लापरवाही के लिए इस केस के आईओ और दिल्ली पुलिस जिम्मेदार है. यही वजह है कि दो-दो अदालतों से फांसी की सजा पाने के बावजूद सुप्रीम कोर्ट को शक का लाभ देते हुए तीनों को बरी करने का हुक्म सुनाना पड़ा. अब इस मामले में शिकार बनी लड़की के माता-पिता का रो रोकर बुरा हाल है. उनका दर्द बेइंतहा है. क्योंकि वे पिछले 10 सालों से अपने बेटी को इंसाफ दिलाने की लड़ाई लड़ रहे थे.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट का हैरान करने वाला फैसला

उस 19 साल की लड़की के साथ हुई दरिंदगी के जितने जिम्मेदार वो तीन हैवान हैं, उतने ही जिम्मेवार वो अधिकारी हैं जिन्होंने जांच में लापरवाही की. नतीजा सबूतों के अभाव में सुप्रीम कोर्ट उन आरोपियों को छोड़ देता है. छावला गैंग रेप और मर्डर के मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले ने सबको चौंका दिया. वजह ये है कि ट्रायल कोर्ट से लेकर हाई कोर्ट तक ने इस मामले में गिरफ्तार तीनों लड़कों को मुजरिम करार देते हुए उनकी फांसी की सज़ा सुना रखी थी. ऐसे में सुप्रीम कोर्ट का इस फैसले को अचानक से पलट देना यकीनन लोगों को हैरान कर रहा है.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मामले पर कही ये बात

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस मामले पर अपना फैसला सुनाते हुए दिल्ली पुलिस की जांच को आडे हाथों लेते हुए कई ऐसी बातें कही हैं, जिससे साफ होता है कि आखिर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हाई कोर्ट के फैसले को क्यों पलट दिया. इन बातों में 10 गवाहों का क्रॉस एग्जामिनेशन नहीं किया जाना. पुलिस का आरोपियों की टीआई परेड नहीं करवाना. पोस्टमॉर्टम के दो दिन बाद फॉरेंसिक सैंपल के लिए नमूने लिया जाना. फॉरेंसिक सैंपल का 11 दिनों तक थाने में पड़ा होना और बरामदगी के बाद कार को फौरन फॉरेंसिक जांच के लिए ना भिजवाना जैसी बातें तो शामिल हैं ही, और भी कई ऐसे तथ्य हैं, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जिनका हवाला देते हुए कहा है कि इस मामले में गिरफ्तार लड़कों को गुनहगार करार दिया जाना ठीक नहीं है.

आरोपियों को अपनी बात रखने का मौका नहीं मिला

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि इस मामले में गिरफ्तार के लिए गए आरोपियों को अपनी बात रखने का मौका तक नहीं दिया गया. जबकि ट्रायल के दौरान ऐसा किया जाना जरूरी था. और तो और ट्रायल कोर्ट भी मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान एक मूक अंपायर की मानिंद पूरे केस को देखता रहा. सुप्रीम कोर्ट की ये टिप्पणी जाहिर करती है कि इस मामले में दिल्ली पुलिस के साथ-साथ लोअर कोर्ट से भी गलती हुई. और इसी के साथ सवाल ये भी उठता है कि अगर गलती निचली अदालत से हुई, तो हाई कोर्ट कैसे उस गलती को नहीं समझ सका.

गवाह कार की पहचान तक नहीं कर सके

आपको जानकर हैरानी होगी कि जिस कार में आरोपियों ने लड़की अगवा कर उसके साथ गैंग रेप किया और जिस कार से रेवाडी ले जाकर लड़की की लाश वहां खेतों में फेंक दी, पुलिस के गवाह इस मामले में उसकी कार भी पहचान नहीं कर सके. और तो और मौका-ए-वारदात पर लड़की की जिन सहेलियों ने लड़की को अगवा करते देखा और जो शख्स वहां से गुजर रहा था, वो सभी के सभी ना तो कार की पहचान को लेकर पूरी तरह श्योर थे और ना ही किसी ने उसका नंबर ही नोट किया था.

डिसक्लोज़र स्टेटमेंट में बीट कांस्टेबल गवाह नहीं

पुलिस ने इस सिलसिले में सबसे पहले राहुल नाम के एक आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया था और उसके बाद पुलिस ने उसकी निशानदेही यानी उसके डिसक्लोजर स्टेटमेंट के बिनाह पर उसके दो साथियों रवि और विनोद को गिरफ्तार किया. लेकिन डिसक्लोजर स्टेटमेंट के दौरान जो बीट कांस्टेबल मौके पर मौजूद था, पुलिस ने उसे तक अपने केस में गवाह नहीं बनाया. ये भी इस केस की एक कमी साबित हुई.

मौके पर पहले दिल्ली पुलिस पहुंची या हरियाणा पुलिस?

9 फरवरी को लड़की को छावला से अगवा कर लिए जाने के बाद उसकी लाश 14 फरवरी 2012 को हरियाणा के रेवाड़ी में पड़ी मिली. जिसकी खबर मिलने पर दिल्ली पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और उसने ना सिर्फ मौके से लड़की की लाश बरामद की, बल्कि लाश के साथ-साथ मौजूद दूसरी चीजें भी बरामद कीं. लेकिन यहां एक सवाल ये उठ गया कि मौके पर पहले हरियाणा पुलिस पहुंची या फिर दिल्ली पुलिस? क्योंकि दोनों ही वहां पहले पहुंचने के दावे कर रहे थे और यहां फिर से शक पैदा हो गया.

मौके से बरामद किए गए सबूतों पर भी उठा सवाल

दिल्ली पुलिस ने जिस जगह से लड़की की लाश बरामद की, वहां से पुलिस ने आरोपियों के वॉलेट, प्लास्टिक की बोतल, दो प्लास्टिक के ग्लास, खाली स्नैक्स पाउच और लाल इंडिका कार का टूटा हुआ बपंर भी बरामद किया. दिल्ली पुलिस ने इन सारी बातों का जिक्र अपनी चार्जशीट में भी किया है. लेकिन हरियाणा पुलिस ने मौका-ए-वारदात पर ऐसी किसी चीज़ के मिलने जैसी कोई बात नहीं कही. यहां फिर से दोनों पुलिस के बीच विरोधाभास पैदा हो गया और शक की गुंजाइश बन गई.

लाश पर बाल मिलने पर भी विरोधाभास

दिल्ली पुलिस ने अपनी तफ्तीश में लाश पर कुछ बाल मिलने की बात कही थी. पुलिस ने इन बालों को फॉरेंसिक जांच के लिए भिजवाया था. लेकिन लाश देखनेवाले लड़की के पिता और दूसरे चश्मदीदों के बयान में ऐसी कोई बात नहीं थी. ऐसे में पुलिस की इस बाल वाली थ्योरी पर भी शक पैदा हुआ.<

क़त्ल की टाइमिंग भी साफ़ नहीं हो सकी

पुलिस ने लड़की की लाश 14 फरवरी को बरामद की और फिर उसे पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए भिजवा दिया. पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट में लड़की की मौत का समय लाश मिलने से 72 से 96 घंटे पहले बताई गई. यानी तीन से चार दिन पहले. ऐसे में सवाल ये उठा कि अगर लाश इतनी पुरानी थी तो फिर वो बरामद होने और पोस्टमार्टम के लिए लाए जाने तक सड़ी क्यों नहीं?

ब्लड और सीमेन के सैंपल पर भी था सवाल

पुलिस ने जब कार बरामद की, तो उससे पुलिस को ब्लड और सीमेन के सैंपल मिले थे. जिन्हें फॉरेंसिक जांच के लिए भेजा गया. लेकिन इन सैंपल पर भी बचाव पक्ष के सवाल खड़े किए. सवाल ये कि वारदात के वक्त कार किसके पास थी और जब बरामद हुई, उससे पहले किन-किन के पास रही?

हमारे कानून का एक मूल मंत्र है. बेशक सौ गुनहगार बच जाएं, लेकिन किसी बेगुनाह को सजा नहीं होनी चाहिए. दूसरा मूल मंत्र ये भी है कि जब तक कोई दोष बगैर किसी शक के सिद्ध ना हो, तब तक किसी को दोषी नहीं माना जा सकता है. और अब जबकि छावला गैंग रेप और मर्डर के मामले में निचली अदालत और हाई कोर्ट से दोषी करार दिए गए तीनों लड़कों को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बरी कर दिया है, तो इसके पीछे कहीं ना कहीं यही मूल मंत्र भी वजह बन गया.

राजस्थान में हाल ही में एक जोड़े ने प्यार के बाद शादी कर ली जिसकी चर्चाएं पूरे देश भर में हुई. इसकी वजह थी कि ना ही ये शादी मामूली थी और ना ही इस जोड़े का प्यार. यहां प्यार के लिए एक महिला अपना जेंडर बदलकर पहले पुरुष बनीं और फिर अपनी स्टूडेंट के साथ शादी की. स्कूल में मिलने-जुलने के दौरान फिजिकल एजुकेशन की टीचर मीरा और कल्पना के बीच प्यार हो गया. इनका प्यार इतना परवान चढ़ा कि दोनों ने शादी करने का फैसला कर लिया. मगर दोनों के बीच जेंडर की दीवार थी. इसके बाद मीरा ने साल 2019 में जेंडर चेंज कराने का फैसला लिया. कई बार सर्जरी करवाई.

जेंडर चेंज प्रक्रिया पूरी होने के बाद वह मीरा से आरव बन गईं. इसके बाद चार नवंबर को अपनी स्टूडेंट कल्पना से शादी रचा ली. इस शादी से दोनों के परिवार बेहद खुश हैं. हालांकि ये पहली घटना नहीं है जहां किसी महिला ने अपना जेंडर चेंज करवाया हो. बल्कि प्लास्टिक सर्जरी के दौर में अक्सर हमारे सामने महिला से पुरुष और पुरुष से महिला बनने की खबरें सामने आती रहती हैं. ऐसी खबरों को सुनकर कई बार हमारे मन ये सवाल भी उठते हैं कि आखिर क्यों लोग अपने शरीर और व्यक्तित्व को पूरी तरह बदलते हैं और यह कितना आसान या मुश्किल है? आज हम अपनी इस खबर में इसी बारे में विस्तार से बात करेंगे

जेंडर चेंज करवाना सुनने में जितना मुश्किल है, उससे कही ज्यादा कठिन है. लोग ऐसा इसलिए करवाते हैं ताकि फिजिकल अपीयरंस उनकी जेंडर आइडेंटिटी से मेल खाए. लोग ऐसा इसलिए करते हैं क्योंकि वो जेंडर आइडेंटिटी डिसऑर्डर या जेंडर डिस्फोरिया का अनुभव करते हैं. जेंडर डिस्फोरिया उस स्थिति को कहते हैं जहां एक महिला, पुरुष और एक पुरुष महिला की तरह महसूस करते हैं. जिन लोगों को जेंडर डायसफोरिया होता है, वो इस तरह का ऑपरेशन कराते हैं.

जेंडर चेंज कराने के लिए किसी भी व्यक्ति को सेक्स रिअसाइनमेंट सर्जरी (एसआरएस) की प्रक्रिया से गुजरना पड़ता है. सेक्स रिअसाइनमेंट सर्जरी (एसआरएस) एक सर्जिकल प्रक्रिया या यूं कहें कि कई प्रक्रियाओं की श्रृंखला है जिसमें ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति की शारीरिक बनावट को बदल दिया जाता है. सेक्स रिअसाइनमेंट सर्जरी को जेंडर रीअसाइनमेंट सर्जरी, जेनिटल रिकंस्ट्रक्शन सर्जरी और सेक्स रीअलाइनमेंट सर्जरी भी कहा जाता है. 

दुनिया भर में कितने लोग बदलवाते हैं अपना जेंडर

दुनिया में कितने लोग अपना जेंडर चेंज करवाते हैं, इसका सटीक आंकड़ा बताना मुश्किल है लेकिन सर्जरी के इनसाइक्लोपीडिया के आंकड़ों की मानें तो अमेरिका में हर साल लगभग 100 और 500 के बीच सेक्स रिअसाइनमेंट सर्जरी होती हैं. दुनिया भर में ये संख्या दो से पांच गुना या इससे ज्यादा अधिक हो सकती है. वहीं, भारत में भी अब सेक्स चेंज करवाना आम हो चुका है. पिछले कुछ समय से सेक्स चेंज कराने वाले लोगों की संख्या बढ़ी है. 

कैलिफॉर्निया के ट्रांसजेंडर सर्जरीस के एक्सपर्ट विशेषज्ञ मार्सी बोवर्स ने एक इंटरव्यू में कहा कि वो हर साल लगभग 200 सेक्स चेंज सर्जरी करते हैं. इनमें तीन चौथाई लोग अपनी आइडेंटिटी पुरुष से महिला में बदलते हैं.

कोई व्यक्ति अपने लिंग को बदलने की प्रक्रिया कैसे शुरू करता है?

वर्ल्ड प्रोफेशनल एसोसिएशन फॉर ट्रांसजेंडर हेल्थ (WPATH)के अनुसार, किसी के लिए भी जन्म के साथ मिले शरीर को बदलना इतना आसान नहीं होता, भले ही इंसान खुद ऐसा चाह रहा हो. इस सर्जरी को कराने से पहले मानसिक तौर पर भी तैयार रहना पड़ता है जिसके लिए डॉक्टर उस व्यक्ति को मनोचिकित्सक से बात करने की सलाह देते हैं.

उसकी अनुमति के बिना ये इस तरह की सर्जरी नहीं कराई जा सकती. व्यक्ति को वाकई में जेंडर डिस्फोरिया है या नहीं, इसके लिए मनोरोग विशेषज्ञ से एक प्रमाणपत्र भी लेना पड़ता है जिसमें वो इस विकार की पुष्टि करता है. ये प्रमाणपत्र सर्जरी कर रहे डॉक्टर को सौंपना भी पड़ता है. जेंडर चेंज करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू करने से पहले डॉक्टर ये भी देखता है कि उस व्यक्ति को कोई गंभीर बीमारी तो नहीं है. इसके बाद व्यक्ति के रिप्रोडक्टिव पार्ट्स और अन्य अंगों को बदलने की प्रक्रिया शुरू की जाती है.

सर्जरी से पहले दिए जाते हैं हार्मोन्स
